| Greg Macdonald Folk Artist |
Greg was born in Omaha Nebraska. Although developing an interest in art at an early age, it wasn't until 1991 that he discovered a love for woodcarving. His initial carving was of a very primitive Santa. It wasn't long after that he started carving on a full time basis. Over the last 13 years Greg has produced thousands of original carvings that have found their way into collections all over the United States and several foreign countries as well. Greg's specialty is Santa Figures. He has blended both an old world and primitive style of carving together which has become instantly recognizable among his collectors. Halloween folk art, Uncle Sam figures, and Angel carvings are also big favorites with his clients. Greg has been spotlighted in several publications such as "Better Homes and Gardens Crafts Showcase", "Heartland View", "Texas Parks and Wildlife" and "Country Marketplace" magazines. In 1995 Greg was featured on the "QVC" Shopping Network" where he sold close to 1000 carvings in less than 5 minutes! His work is currently offered at several art fairs throughout the year, select galleries and gift shops, on Ebay and of course this website. Greg resides in the small town of Walnut Iowa, where he continues to carve wonderfully unique pieces of folk art. ~ Most of all Greg enjoys his clients ~ From the largest collectors to the customer looking for that one perfect gift. Greg feels that his customers truly are what makes being a folk artist truely speical. ~ Thank you All ~ -Greg |
